About the Author

Rinat Hadad Siegel is a children’s book writer and a former educator. 

Rinat’s debut picture book, Mixed Up Challahs, is slated for publication by Levine Querido in the fall of 2026, and her second book, Na’ima’s Shavuot Eve, is coming up in spring 2027 by PJ Publishing.

Rinat was born in Israel to a Jewish Mizrahi family, and delving into her Mizrahi roots is one of her passions. She aspires to promote diverse Jewish history in children’s literature, and she currently resides in Southern California.

Rinat holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the American Jewish University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Ben Gurion University.

Rinat has been fortunate to be selected to participate in different cohorts. Among them are the 2026 Sephardic Stories Initiative Year 3 by PJ Library, the 2025 Sephardic Stories Initiative Year 2 by PJ Library, the 2025 Sephardic Leaders Fellowship hosted by Jimena, the 2023 PJ Library Summer Camp for Writers & Illustrators of Jewish Picture Books by PJ Library, and the 2021 The Stories We Tell workshop by PJ Library and NuRoots.
